It's an unfortunate fact that some Realm players want to steal your account. So here are some things you can do yo protect yourself. First, never e-mail or ICQ your username and password. Noone at Sierra will ask you for that info, so if you get a request to do so, get as much information about the person reqesting it (I.E. E-mail address, etc.) and e-mail the Realm Team with the information.

Another way a "hacker" can obtain your username and password is through a program called Back Orifice. This program is such a threat that the Realm Team added a port checking routine to our logins now. The best way to protect yourself from this threat is to become knowledgable on it. BoDetect 1.5 is a freeware utility that will detect and remove Back Orifice.
